A Legacy Built on Speed and Vision

Darlington Dragway was founded by motorsports pioneer Harold Brasington, the same visionary behind the legendary Darlington Raceway. Partnering with local businessman Woodrow Hall, Brasington brought his dream of a world-class drag racing facility to life. Drawing inspiration from iconic tracks like Rockingham and Bristol, the dragway was designed with both racers and fans in mind—featuring a unique two-tower layout that separated racing operations from hospitality, enhancing the overall experience.

NHRA Excellence

In 2025, Darlington Dragway entered a new era by officially joining the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Member Track Network. As part of NHRA’s Southeast Division (Division 2), the dragway now hosts a wide range of NHRA-sanctioned events, including:

• NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League
• NHRA Street Legal Programs
• NHRA Summit King of the Track

This transition has elevated the track’s profile and expanded opportunities for racers of all ages and skill levels.
